Residents complain about VIP toilets

Kinross residents still use VIP toilets.

KINROSS – Residents are complaining about the VIP toilets which are overflowing.

The Govan Mbeki Municipality used to drain the toilets every three months, but last year the toilets were not drained for the whole year.

One resident said she reported the toilets to the municipality who promised to attend to the matter, but they did not.

“We did not even enjoy the festive season, because the area is stinking,” said the resident.

Residents said during the budget consultation meeting, they were promised that VIP toilets would be converted into flushing toilets.

“We would like to know when they are going to begin working and I hope they did not spend the money on something else like they always do,” said the angry resident.

Govan Mbeki Municipality was contacted, but did not comment at time of going to press.
