Bethal Home Affairs urge the public to collect ID Smartcards
Applicants are urged to go and collect their ID Smartcards at Bethal Home Affairs and new mothers can make use of the Bethal Hospital office to register their babies.
BETHAL – Bethal Home Affairs issues ID Smartcards.
Applicants are encouraged to visit the office to apply for the handy ID Smartcard.
The office is currently in possession of 562 uncollected ID Smartcards and 10 green ID books.
Of the 562 uncollected ID Smartcards, 121 have been lying at the Bethal Home Affairs office for more than four months.
Applicants who have applied for ID Smartcards, are urged to collect their cards as soon as possible.
Take note of the following when you apply for your ID Smartcard:
• Applications by pensioners and first time applicants are free.
• Applications for the re-issuing of an ID Smartcard cost R140.
• First time applicants must bring their birth certificates and mother’s ID.
• No ID photos are required.
With regard to the registration of births, Bethal Home Affairs are occupying a satellite office at Bethal Hospital to make it easier for mothers to register their new-born babies before they are discharged from hospital.
Pregnant mothers are urged to make use of this service once their babies are born.
The office at Bethal Hospital is open from Mondays to Fridays from 10am to 12pm.
