Mr Anton Makhaya, councillor, thanked Ms Badanile Nkosi for taking care of the elderly and the disabled of Lebohang.
LEBOHANG – Senior citizens from Sifiso Sabadala Old Age Home received 50 food parcels from the Govan Mbeki Parliamentary Constituency’s office.
They also donated two birthday cakes for Ms Johanna Ndabi Motsweni who was celebrating her 103rd birthday.
Ms Esther Zwane from the Parliamentary Constituency’s office said they have decided to spoil the senior citizens during Valentine’s month.
Mr Anton Makhaya, councillor, thanked Ms Badanile Nkosi for taking care of the elderly and the disabled of Lebohang.
He also said he would like to see the centre have its own place one day so more elderly can be accommodated.
Sifiso Sabadala Old Age Home takes care of the elderly and the disabled, but is currently operating from an RDP house.
Ms Badanile Nkosi, founder of the centre, said many of the elderly want to live at the centre, but they cannot be accommodated because of a lack of space.
“I urge councillors and business people to help us get land where we would be able to take in more elderly, the disabled and orphans,” added Ms Nkosi, who also mentioned the organisation is fully registered.
