High School Evander revealed their three new classrooms, bathrooms and the renovated pavilion.
The event was attended by the sponsors, representatives from the Department of Basic Education, principals from the two local feeder schools and the school governing body.
Some of the main sponsors were Komatsu, Joy Global, Petrochemical Piping Services and Promac.
Mr Jaco van Wyk, principal, thanked the sponsors and the contractors and said he values every donation that was made towards the project.
He said what is important, is to have a school where learners have pride.
“Learners should not only be taught subjects, but also values such as keeping their school neat.
The school aims at accommodating more learners, build more classrooms and have more facilities in the future.
They also began another project to get big screens for some of the classrooms where learners will watch a teacher giving extra lessons after school.
Mr Van Wyk urged companies to help them with the mathematics centre.
He said the school excels in sport and the hockey team will soon take part in the provincial play offs in Mbombela.
“We invited all the sponsors to show them what their donations have done for the school.
“It is important that everything is transparent and the auditor is pleased with the way the funds were used.
“You are now like family to us.
“The Lord will bless you and the fruit that you have planted, will be reaped in the future.”
Ms Dinah Williams from Komatsu said their goal is to give back to the community through transforming them and that was why they contributed towards education.
The three new classes were built in such a way that they can also be used as a school hall.
