Reggie Masuku Secondary School teenagers learn about pregnancy

Teenage pregnancy was the main topic of the day as speakers from various departments gave presentations to the learners of the school.

The Department of Social Development (DSD) in the Msukaligwa office held a teenage pregnancy talk at the Reggie Masuku Secondary School last Wednesday.

This comes as the department celebrates its Social Development Month with the main objective being to deliver sustainable livelihoods for many.

The department uses the month to intensify its marketing and provisioning of its services so that various communities are reached and positively impacted upon.

Teenage pregnancy was the main topic of the day as speakers from various departments gave presentations to the learners of the school.

Sr Nompumelelo Khumalo from the M.N. Cindi Clinic gave a talk on teenage pregnancy and options available at the clinic regarding family planning.

Jeanette Motsamai from CMR gave a motivating talk on decision-making, chanting to the learners they must think carefully before they leap.

DSD’s social worker, Sibusiso Mnisi-Masina, ended the presentations, informing learners on all the programmes available at the department to teenagers who are pregnant. He especially mentioned the Early Teenage Parenting Skills Programme where teenage mothers are taught how to take care of their babies.
