SECUNDA – The man who was found dead in the field between the Fireplace Roadhouse and United Motors last Wednesday, 25 July, has not yet been identified.

According to Mr Chris de Bruyn from ER24 who had to certify the man dead, the body was partially decomposed. He estimated that the man had already been dead for about a week.

Capt Bettina Zondo from Secunda Police Station said a homeless person who went to do his laundry in the stream in this field, stumbled upon the body and alerted the police.

The deceased was possibly also a vagabond. The cause of death cannot be determined without an autopsy.

He was wearing a powder blue t-shirt, a grey jersey with red stripes, grey trousers and safety boots. Anyone with information, are asked to contact the Secunda Police at 017 017 624 2242.
