A new town is in the pipeline between eMbalenhle and Secunda

Services supply stem from the prior full operational Winkelhaak Mines that serviced five shafts and two hostels.

SECUNDA – The area around the old Winkelhaak Mine’s head office is buzzing with activity as the wheels are being set in motion to establish a new private town called New Town Estate.

Permanent Products CC, a reputable company in South Africa that specialises in accommodation in KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga, has recently obtained land from Pan Africa in the surrounding area of Mpumalanga Guest House of more than 250ha.

This company already owns six guest houses that can accommodate about 3 300 guests in Evander and at the old Winkelkhaak Mine’s offices known as Extension 50 and 51.

The guest house at Winkelhaak between eMbalenhle and Secunda can host 1 200 guests.

Experience in the management and operation of guest houses for main contractor firms exceeds 18 years.

These properties are in the process of being developed into a private town and will host all facilities operated from the prior Winkelhaak Mines’s main office area, including office space, industrial facilities, warehousing, residential guest house facilities and even family units ranging from 33m², 44m² and 70m².

A primary school, a hospital, a business and retail hub, warehousing and training facilities with accommodation are on the cards for the future.

There is already an existing Vodacom network coverage available on the site and has 24-hour security services with armed guards and guard dogs in place.

This area is serviced by electricity from the main substation of Eskom, Capital substation, with a designed capacity of 35 MVA.

Water is already directly supplied by Rand Water and sewage effluent is accommodated at the Evander purification plant of Govan Mbeki Municipality.

These services stem from the prior full operational Winkelhaak Mines that serviced five shafts and two hostels.

Any company who has any enquiries on services, land and availability of any of above land uses can phone Ms Wilma Nel at 017 632 2119 or send an email to newtownestate01@permanentproducts.co.za.
