Alison enjoys her job at Residentia Palmoord in Bethal
New hairstylist invites clients to old age home
BETHAL – Ms Alison Smit recently began working as a hairstylist at Residentia Palmoord Old Age Home and she loves her job.
She had her own salon in eMalahleni, (Witbank) for 28 years before moving to Plettenberg Bay for two years and later to Secunda.
Ms Smit grew up in eMalahleni but left school at the age of 16 to become a hairdresser. She obtained her masters certificate in hairdressing and also taught as a distance educator for Thswane College in eMalahleni.
She invited new clients to visit her at Residentia Palmoord Old Age Home.
Ms Smit added that all clients even from outside the home are welcome.
In her free time, she enjoys motorbiking, sailing and playing the African drum, Djembe.
Ms Smit is also a qualified life coach, a Neuro-linguistic programming practitioner, and an inspirational speaker.
With the Neuro-linguistic programming, she aims to change people’s way of thinking and frame of mind.
Ms Smit said she can help with depression, fear, anger management, boundary shifting, changing of values, overcoming self-limitations, goal setting for businesses, life skills for quality of life and clarity of mind.
“Perception is everything,” said Ms Smit.
“As you speak, so you think and become.”
