Secunda Police investigate double murder

Two men were found murdered in Secunda this morning (June 1).

The bodies were discovered at around 07:30 in an open field in the industrial area next to Kingfisher Street and the Secunda Airfield.

When the police arrived, they found the bodies about 60m apart. One victim was identified as a white man and the other victim as an African man.

According to Sergeant Busisiwe Mthethwa, Communications Officer for Secunda Police, preliminary investigations revealed that both victims had sustained visible injuries, including gunshot wounds.

Emergency medical personnel attended the scene and declared both victims dead.

“The identities of the men are being withheld pending formal identification and notification of their next of kin,” said Mthethwa.

The police are investigating a case of double murder. No arrests had been made yet.
