A total of 13 people die after road crashes in Mpumalanga
The MEC reiterated his call to road users to work with government and its stakeholders to save lives on the road.
The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, issued a statement about fatalities on Mpumalanga roads.
According to the press release, various road crashes in the province left 13 people dead since Sunday with several others sustaining injuries.
Closer to home, two passengers were killed on 3 April around 5.30am when a Light Delivery Vehicle (LDV) overturned on the R546 Road between Standerton and Charl Cilliers.
Three more people, including the driver and the passenger, sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment in hospital.
The MEC of the department expressed his concerns, saying government was doing all it can to bring the number of crashes down, to no avail.
The MEC reiterated his call to road users to work with government and its stakeholders to save lives on the road.
” We appeal to road users to be more cautious and obey the traffic rules because most crashes are attributable to human behaviour. ”
