MaShamase together with the winner of the pageant, Nhlanhla Phakathi from Kinross, visited Vukuqakaze Secondary School on Tuesday, 6 August and donated sanitary towels.

eMBALENHLE – Ms Nondumiso Nzima, also known as MaShamase, is passionate about uplifting the lives of young people and the needy.

Ms Nzima has faith that her dream of keeping young people away from drugs and off the streets will soon materialise.

She recently hosted the Miss and Mr Winter Break Beauty Pageant which earned her the hearts of many.

She said the beauty pageant was aimed at encouraging the youth not to give up on their dreams and to always stay positive. “We have noticed that the youth often resort to substance abuse because of the pressure and stress.

“They end up on the streets and often the girls fall pregnant.

“We also intend to provide sex education and speak to them about sexual diseases.”

The pageant was also used as platform to donate sanitary towels.

MaShamase together with the winner of the pageant, Nhlanhla Phakathi from Kinross, visited Vukuqakaze Secondary School on Tuesday, 6 August and donated sanitary towels.

About 50 learners received sanitary towels.

She called on good Samaritans in the area to support the initiative.
