Lanique dreams of going to USA for modelling work
Young model from Secunda still needs R50 000 to go to USA
SECUNDA – A young Secunda model, Lanique Jansen van Vuuren (11), is still dreaming about going to the United States of America (USA) to further develop her talents.
She began with modelling work three years ago and won several prizes.
She was chosen as Miss Congeniality in the Cansa Socialite competition. It was at this competition where talent scouts saw and invited her to an international talent show in the USA.
At this talent show, people from all walks of life and different countries will showcase their talents as models, actors, singers and dancers and they will have the chance to be seen by the world’s best model agencies, agents and managers and possibly receive further training and guidance.
Lanique still needs about R50 000 to make this dream a reality.
The International Talent Showcase (ITS), the agency organising the event, aims to create a safe, family-friendly environment for upcoming young stars to develop their talent.
Lanique does modelling at the Alla Modelling & Beauty Company and her role models are Tamaryn Green, Miss South Africa 2018 and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Miss Universe 2017.
Lanique won several titles and second and third places as beauty queen in the Miss Country 2016, Miss Winter La Beaute 2017, Miss Summer La Beaute 2017, Miss Christmas Beauty 2018, Miss Candy Pop, Miss Superhero 2018 and the Miss Swartgoudfees 2018.
In her free time Lanique enjoys playing with her Barbie dolls or her Dachshund, Max.
Lanique’s mother, Ms Launa Jansen van Vuuren, and Mr Peppie Petherbridge are organising a golf day for her to raise money to go to the USA on 20 July.
This golf day will take place on Saturday, 25 April at Walker Park Golf Club.
Mr Petherbridge asked companies to invite their clients and employees to take part in this fundraiser and make a girl’s dream come true.
He said the companies can use this day as a chance to network with other companies, as well as team building event.
Companies can choose to get involved in different ways by sponsoring a tee box, a green, an auction item, a lucky draw item, a novelty prize or other prizes.
Companies can also enter the golf day by sponsoring a four ball team with a preferred booking time for R1 000 or by sponsoring a four ball team with two golf carts at R1 500.
