BETHAL – Some inmates in Bethal Correctional Services allegedly attempted to burn down their cell this evening, 20 April.
According to the police, the wardens managed to attend to the matter before it got out of hand.
Const Thomas Mogadime, police spokesman, said according to the information at hand no inmate escaped.
“It is not true that there was a mass prison escape.
“People heard the sirens and assumed that there was an escape.”
The matter is still under investigation.
The Bethal Correctional Services confirmed the incident and said the situation is under control. No prisoner escaped.
