Covid-19: Help to fill a pet’s bowl during lockdown

While many organisations and individuals are focussing on relieving the need in local homes, the pets are often overlooked. Roman Alarms, Because Dogs & Co and Delta 1 Rescue Diving therefore embarked on a pet food drive for several months.

HIGHVELD – Covid-19 and the national lockdown have drastic financial impact on many pet owners, resulting in the animals also going without enough food.

While many organisations and individuals are focussing on relieving the need in local homes, the pets are often overlooked.

Roman Alarms, Because Dogs & Co and Delta 1 Rescue Diving therefore embarked on a pet food drive for several months.

Their aim is to collect cat and dog food which they will then distribute to the residents in need of food for their pets.

“One simple donation provides food for a pet and peace of mind for an owner. Fill a bowl and help keep families and pets together,” said Mr Andries Lee of Delta 1 Rescue Diving.

Ms Chantél Vorster from Because Dogs & Co said the plan is to make up bags of 4kg each to hand out to pet owners in need of food for their dogs and cats.

Donations can be dropped off at Roman Alarms’ offices at 28 Paul Kruger Street, Trichardt.

You can also phone their offices at 017 638 0111 or Nols at 079 494 6717 for collections.

Ms Vorster can be contacted at 081 013 4952.
