Blood service needs venues for mobile blood drives

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is still open and receiving blood as they are part of essential services.
Ms Dot Prinsloo, donor relations practitioner of the SANBS branch in Secunda, said they are very thankful for donors who are still donating blood in this difficult time and the blood supply is being kept stable.
However, they used to receive a lot of support from donors who donated at mobile blood drives and it makes up a bulk of the blood supply they need daily.
“We are currently facing venue difficulties for our mobile blood drives,” said Ms Prinsloo.
She urged the community, business owners and managers of local shopping centres to contact her if they are able to host the blood service for a mobile blood drive.
Contact the blood service at 017 631 3731 or 0800 119 031.
