An employee of Highveld Radiology in Trichardt tested positive for Covid-19

TRICHARDT – An employee of Highveld Radiology in Trichardt tested positive for Covid-19.

Highveld Radiology received the information of this case yesterday (8 May).

Dr Eric Gous of Highveld Radiology said they immediately reported it to the Department of Health (DOH).

“The employee who tested positive was placed in quarantine with immediate effect as instructed by the DOH and will be managed further by the DOH,” said Dr Gous.

The remaining employees were evaluated following guidelines provided by the DOH and those deemed necessary by these guidelines were also placed in quarantine.

According to Dr Gous, Highveld Radiology was evaluated by the DOH yesterday and they were more than satisfied with the infection prevention measures in place.

Highveld Radiology was then disinfected by the DOH according to protocol.

The DOH was provided with a list of all the patients who came into possible contact with the employee who tested positive within a time frame specified by the DOH.

These patients will be contacted by the DOH for further instructions.

“We were instructed by the DOH to continue with our services and to continue with the infection prevention measures we have in place.

“All our employees will be monitored by the DOH on a daily basis for a time frame as deemed necessary by the DOH.”
