Vaal Business chamber is launched in Standerton

“We are eager to join forces alongside other community organisations applying pressure to save our town,” Mr Gary van Aswegen, chairman, said.

Vaal Business Chamber in Standerton is going public.

The chamber confirmed its first order of business, saying the life span of Lekwa’s infrastructure and service delivery capabilities are no secret.

“We are eager to join forces, alongside other community organisations, applying pressure to save our town,” Mr Gary van Aswegen, chairman, said.

Mr Van Aswegen also said that the entity will stand in the gap to protect the interests of businesses in town.

“We have launched the following three legal cases simultaneously and request support from the community.”

As regards electricity first and foremost, they will piggyback on the pending Ratepayers Supreme Court Of Appeal case.

According to him, the procedure will be to prevent Eskom from implementing NMD, until the ratepayers’ case is heard by using the initial interdict received as pillar, to get the community through the winter.

With regard to water and sanitation, the chamber said the water supply is limited, dirty and dangerous.

“Following the Koster & Swartruggens win, we will begin the pursuit of attaining clean and sufficient water supply ourselves, as well as repairs on sewage leaks.”
