Standerton Hospital is open Mondays to Fridays and hours can be extended at a later stage, should resources allow it.

Covid-19 vaccinations in Standerton have been proceeding quite well.

The CEO of Standerton Hospital, Mr Nhlanhla Dladla, encouraged residents on Thursday, July, 8 to be vaccinated.

People over 60 are eligible to be vaccinated and the total for the first jab stands at 4 127, while 826 teachers have received their vaccinations.

“More than 80% of health workers have also been vaccinated,” Mr Dladla said.

Standerton Hospital is one of the permanent sites where people can go for the jab. As of Monday, July, 5 the age group 50 to 59 was welcome to arrive.

“We managed to vaccinate 450 residents in four days,” he added.

The hospital also welcomes walk-ins and another site at Tutuka Power Station is envisaged. A team is on the move as well in the township. Standerton Hospital is open Mondays to Fridays and hours can be extended at a later stage, should resources allow it.

Residents should bring along an ID, wear a mask and adhere to social distancing. Registration for vaccination is also done. Mr Dladla takes into account the individual’s choice, but hopes for a 100% vaccination rate for the over 60s.
