FAKE NEWS: Don’t be misled by false media circulating on social platforms

During a security meeting held at the Ermelo Inn yesterday, 14 July, people were warned about disinformation being circulated to cause panic.

There is a false message being circulating about Ermelo going to be closed-off and that residents will be forced to stay in their homes for an extended period of time.

This message is to be ignored completely.

The situation is under the control of the Ermelo police and a joint JOC group of leaders as well as a large contingent of residents doing patrols.

During a security meeting held at the Ermelo Inn yesterday, July 14, with several prominent stakeholders ranging from police to security firms, the taxi association, and people within the business sector, people were warned about disinformation being circulated that cause unnecessary panic and/or confusion.
