People get active with parkrun in Standerton

This week seven people tackled the 5km route for the first time.

Red was the colour and love the theme of this week’s Standerton parkrun at the River Park. A total of 64 people opted to begin their Saturday by getting some exercise at the River Park parkrun’s Valentine’s special in Standerton.

The parkrun aims to encourage people of all ages and sizes, fit or unfit, to get up and get moving. You can run, jog or walk, as long as you parkrun.

This week seven people tackled the 5km route for the first time. With the only competition being against oneself, two participants improved their own best times.

Magda Streicher, Nienke Swart and Monica Swart are chirpy about their Saturday morning exercise.
