Secunda swimmers excel
Aqua Adventure Swim and Gala Club hosts championship.
Swimmers from the Aqua Adventure Swim and Gala Club enjoyed a good month by excelling in two championships held recently.
They took part in the South African Sports Association for Intellectually Impaired (SASA II) Summer Games from March 30 to April 4 at the Sasol Gymnasium in Secunda and in the Swim South Africa’s (SSA) Level 2 Championship held from March 27 to 30 held in Gauteng.
The two brothers, Braam and Wian Koekemoer, and Rhuwan Welthagen swam 23 personal best times between the three of them at the SAA Level 2 Championship.
Braam took home three gold medals for 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley, a silver medal for 50m freestyle and a bronze medal for 200m breaststroke.

The swimmers from Aqua Adventure Swim and Gala Club did not stand back for any other swimmers and brought home five medals from the SASA II Summer Games.
Cawekazi Ntsalaze won a silver and a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle mixed relay and a silver medal in the 25m freestyle while Luvo Mtshali cashed in with two bronze medals for the 200m freestyle and the 100m mixed relay respectively.
The coaches and organisers of the SASA II thanked the Sasol Gymnasium’s management team and staff for the use of the swimming pool.
