Youth empowerment gala to tackle issues faced by Lekwa’s youth
The theme for the dinner is formal, and guests are expected to attend dressed in all black.
The Zion Back to God in Unity Movement is hosting a youth empowerment gala dinner at the Standerton Town Hall on September 13.
Young people from various churches have been invited to attend, but the event is open to all youth, not just churchgoers. Anyone interested is warmly welcomed to join the evening.
The theme for the dinner is formal, and guests are expected to attend dressed in all black. Tickets will be sold at the door at R100 for youth and R150 for adults.
The purpose of the gala is to address some of the serious challenges faced by young people living in the Lekwa area.
The Zion Back to God in Unity Movement hopes to use the evening to help youth stay grounded in Christ while equipping them with tools to make better life choices.
Topics to be discussed include education, mental health, prevention of drug and alcohol abuse, and teenage pregnancies. Attendees will also receive guidance on how to apply to various colleges and universities, and learn about entrepreneurial skills and opportunities.
The organisers are appealing for donations and sponsorships to assist with event essentials such as sound, décor and catering. For more information or to offer support, contact the Zion Back to God in Unity Movement.
