Taekwondo fighters battle it out at championship in Secunda

Victory Taekwondo Club receive many gold medals.

Fighters of the Victory Taekwondo Club took part in the Phoenix Championship on March 7 and excelled.

The championship was held by Victory Taekwondo Club at the Lillian Ngoyi Centre, and fighters from Middelburg, Pretoria, Benoni, Bedfordview, Norwood, Kroonstad and Bloemfontein clubs took part.

Victory Taekwondo Club fighters went home with 77 gold medals, 36 silver and 22 bronze.

Conrad Koortzen of Victory Taekwondo Club did well, taking six gold medals, while Gerhard Claassens took five, and Liam Burr-Dixon, Madeleine van Wyk, Naylene van Wyk, Nathan Strydom and Ivan Swanepoel each took four.

The other fighters who excelled were David Nel, Nkazi Mahlangu, Erika Vorster and Cornelia Bosch, who each took three gold medals, and Lanique Jacobs, Sasha-Lee Vorster and Carter Long, who each took two gold medals.

Ayden Kruger, JP Vorster (master), Mzwandile Mkwananzi, Emme du Toit, Riley de Bruyn, Lakhanya Mkwananzi, Micah Rajlal, Arthas Erasmus and Mathys Wolhuter took one gold medal each.
