Lekwa Municipality appeal to community not to dump waste everywhere

The municipality appeals to the community to work together in maintaining cleanliness by avoiding illegal dumping and reporting unattended waste.

The Lekwa Local Municipality said it continues to provide refuse removal services to ensure a clean and healthy environment for all residents. The municipality collects household waste from different areas according to the refuse collection schedule, helping to keep communities free from illegal dumping and environmental hazards.

Residents are encouraged to place their refuse in suitable bags or bins and put them outside their yards on the designated collection days. This allows refuse removal teams to collect waste efficiently and helps ensure that streets remain clean.

The Municipal spokesperson, Lubabalo Manjenge, said the municipality also appeals to the community to work together in maintaining cleanliness by avoiding illegal dumping, reporting unattended waste, and making use of designated dumping sites where necessary.

“Community cooperation plays an important role in keeping Lekwa clean and safe.

“Refuse removal teams continue to work daily across various areas of the municipality to collect waste and respond to service delivery needs. The municipality appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents as efforts continue to improve waste management services,” said Manjenge.
