Man appears in Secunda court for wife’s murder

Werner Müller was arrested in Mozambique on April 14, after fleeing Secunda

Werner Müller (43), a man who is suspected in the murder of his wife, René (44), briefly appeared before Magistrate Magalankanqa in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court today (April 20).

The matter has been postponed to April 28 for bail application. He remains in custody.

He appeared under the legal representation of Tebogo Phane from Aphane Attorneys.

René’s body was discovered concealed in a bag in the outside room of her townhouse in Danie Theron Street on April 13, at around 12:30. The couple had been married since February.

Müller was arrested in Mozambique on April 14, after fleeing Secunda. Family of both the accused and deceased were present in today’s court proceeding.
