Standerton judokas clinch medals at Sedibeng Open

The young fighters brought home three gold medals and one silver.

Standerton Judo students represented their town at the Sedibeng Open held on May 9 in Vanderbijlpark, where they delivered an outstanding performance against strong competition from across the region.

The young athletes showed determination, discipline, and excellent sportsmanship throughout the tournament, making both their coaches and supporters proud.

The following students achieved podium finishes at the competition:

  • Vivike de Beer – silver medal
  • Janko van der Linden – gold medal
  • Moegsin Ally – gold medal
  • Tristan da Cunha – gold medal

The success of the judokas highlights the growing strength of judo in the area. Competing at events such as the Sedibeng Open gives students valuable experience and helps them continue developing their skills at a higher level.

Family members, teammates and supporters congratulated the athletes on their excellent achievements, and the club looks forward to building on this success at future tournaments.
