Standerton High School athletes compete in inter house meet

New learners took part in their favourite athletics items and seasoned athletes measured their skills.

Standerton High School hosted its inter-house athletics day on January 16, allowing new learners to participate in their favourite athletics items and seasoned athletes to measure their skills.

Learners participated in several track and field events, including hurdles, long-distance runs, sprints, javelin, high jump, and more.

The school was divided into five colour groups according to their grades, and learners could show school spirit by cheering for their classmates from the pavilion.

The Grade Eight group practiced songs along with their other items, cheering for the talented athletes.

Heavy rains caused a postponement of several field items to January 19.
