Curro's netball teams are Gert Sibande champs
School’s U12 and U13 teams will take part in Challenger Cup.
Curro Secunda was crowned as the Gert Sibande regional netball champions after all four their netball teams won their final matches.
The U10, U11, U12 and U13 netball teams took part in the championship for small schools on May 23.
The U10 team beat Christian Ark School with 6 – 4, Laerskool Marietjie van Niekerk with 7 – 3 and Laerskool Maranatha with 9 – 5 while the U11 team beat Christian Ark with 11 – 1, Laerskool Marietjie van Niekerk with 6 – 5 and Laerskool Maranatha with 5 – 2.
The U12 team beat Christian Ark School with 10 – 4, Laerskool Marietjie van Niekerk with 14 – 4 and Laerskool Maranatha with 20 – 2 while the U13 team was tied in a draw of 7 – 7 with Christian Ark School and beat Laerskool Marietjie van Niekerk with 16 – 6 and Laerskool Maranatha with 10 – 4.
The U12 and U13 teams will take part in the Challenger Netball Cup on June 20 at Hoërskool Middelburg.
The Executive Head of Curro Secunda, Ruan van der Merwe, said they are proud of the girls for their determination, teamwork and outstanding performances on the court.
