The Shapeve Primary School U12 netball team has qualified to compete in the national finals of the Primary Schools Ubuntu Champs, which will be held in Gauteng on July 23.

The team’s achievement follows an outstanding performance throughout the competition. They secured first place at circuit level before advancing to the district competition, where they once again emerged as champions.

Their success earned them a place at the provincial finals in Middelburg, where they continued their winning streak by claiming first position and being crowned Provincial Champions.

According to Hlengiwe Sabo, a member of the school’s management team, the girls have performed exceptionally well this season.

“The exposure and experience gained at the Primary Ubuntu Champs have had a positive impact on their growth, both on and off the court. They are now provincial champions, and we believe in nurturing talent and building champions.

“We congratulate the girls and their coaches for flying our school’s flag,” said Sabo.
As the team prepares for the national finals, the school is appealing to parents, businesses, and community members for support.

Sabo said sponsorships towards transport, accommodation, playing kit, and meals will help the young champions represent both their school and Mpumalanga with pride.

For sponsorships or donations, interested individuals and businesses can contact the school office on 017 685 2885.
