INVITATION FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AND APPLICATION OF A MINING PERMIT / REF NO: MP30/5/1/1/2/00146BP Notice is hereby given in terms of Sections 24(5)(f) and (o) of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998), as amended, read together with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2017 (GN R326), as amended, and Section 27 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002 (Act No. 28 of 2002).
Hydro-geo Consulting has been appointed by the applicant, the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs, to undertake the Environmental Assessment Application Process for the proposed establishment of a borrow pit.
Proposed project: The project entails the establishment of a gravel and aggregate material borrow pit on Portion 0 of Sasolkraal Farm No. 289 IS, located within the Gert Sibande District Municipality, Mpumalanga Province. The GPS Co- ordinates: 2631`13.85″S 29 8`10.64″E. The proposed development triggers Activity 21 and Activity 27 under the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations GN R327, Listing Notice 1.
