Athletes get ready

Run and get a medal at Kosmos 3-in-1 in Secunda.

SECUNDA – Athletes can get ready for the annual Kosmos 3-in-1 Marathon on 8 March.

Secunda Marathon Club will be hosting this event and athletes can choose to run 10km, 21.1km, 42.2km or the 3-in-1 of 73.3km.

Athletes can enter on 7 March from 5pm and the start and the finish of this race is at Lake Umuzi.

Entry fees are R250 for the 3-in-1, R120 for the 42.2km, R70 for the 21.1km and R30 for the 10km.

Athletes taking part in the 42.2km, will begin at 6am and the cut off time is at noon.

The 21.1km athletes will begin at 1pm and the cut off time is 4.20pm and the 10km athletes will begin at 5pm and the cut off time is 7pm.

For those who are not so fit, there is a 3km fun run that will begin at 1.15pm and the entry fee is R10.

All finishers will get medals and big prize money is up for grabs for the winners.

The winner of the 3-in-1 open category will receive R1 250.

All athletes who complete the 3-in-1 race, will get a special T-shirt and athletes completing their 15th or 20th race, will get a Dri Mac jacket.

The race organisers want to inform the residents in advance of noise on the day of the race.
