Vultures beat Remember Academy 2-0

Academy tried to get back into the match, but were outplayed in midfield and lacked spark in the attack.

eMBALENHLE – Vultures FC collected three points when they beat Remember Academy 2-0 during the Local Football Association’s U/13 Development League at the Welas Ground on Saturday, 9 August.

A goal in each half from Khululeka Malunga and Siyabonga Maphangela handed Vultures a much needed victory.

The club dominated the first 45 minutes, controlling possession and looking threatening in attack, while Academy seemed out of ideas in front of the goal.

Vultures continued to push and it paid off just after the half-hour mark when Khululeka scored.

Academy tried to get back into the match, but were outplayed in midfield and lacked spark in the attack.

However, they came close to levelling the score just after the break, but were denied by some excellent keeping from Prince Zwane.

Siyabonga doubled Vultures’ lead after good teamwork.

The match became more open as Academy pressed forward in search of a goal, but Vultures held onto their two-goal lead in the end.
