Melusi helps Lions to collect points
U/13 Soccer Development League’s last matches take place at the Mayisela Ground on 30 August.
eMBALENHLE – Melusi Mahlangu’s strike in the second half secured a 1-0 win for Real Lions FC against Shining Stars FC in the U/13 Soccer Development League clash at the Welas Ground on Saturday, 23 August.
The early stages of the match were quiet with both goalkeepers not being tested by any of the attackers.
Stars began to enjoy ball possession before the break, while making good, short passes on the edge of their opponents’ box.
The first half ended goalless with Lions having failed to register a single shot on target, while Stars considered themselves unlucky after having created chances to score.
The match came to life in the second half and Melusi from the Lions scored from the penalty spot to help his side secure three points.
The last matches of the league will be played at the Mayisela Ground from 9am to 1pm on 30 August.
