Liam Korf makes history

eMBALENHLE – The Bethal Bears Cricket Club beat the eMbalenhle Cricket Club by six wickets on Saturday, 24 February at the eMbalenhle Sasol Club.
Liam Korf, Bethal Bears Cricket Club’s opening bowler, made history by being the first player of the club to take eight wickets in an innings.
eMbalenhle Cricket Club’s batsmen had no answer to Korf’s bowling and were bowled out for only 59 runs.
Joash Sentoo took the other two wickets.
eMbalenhle Cricket Club bravely fought back however and it looked as though they might cause an upset.
Their bowlers bowled a disciplined length and made batting difficult for the Bethal Bears Cricket Club.
BG Spangenberg however came in and batted with positive intent which ensured that Bethal Cricket Club got the winning runs in the13th over.
He was Bethal Bears Cricket Club’ best batsman with 31 runs.
The Bethal Bears Cricket Club will be travelling to Witrivier next weekend for their next match.
