Legendary wins final

Spectators were treated to an intense action netball final with the game running into overtime and various last minute goals.

SECUNDA – The Legends won the first league action netball final held at Lake Umuzi on 5 May.

The Legends and the Young Bloods made it through to the final game.

The final was an intense action-packed display of fast-paced netball, with the score at a draw of 29/29 with only four minutes of play left.

With two minutes on the clock, the score was 30/29, but ten seconds later an equaliser brought the teams back to a draw.

With 30 seconds of game time left, the Legends were ahead at 31/30, but in the last 10 seconds, the Young Bloods once again scored an equaliser, making it necessary for overtime.

In the first two minutes, the score remained locked at 31/31 for nearly 90 seconds before the Legends scored their 32nd goal.

At the one minute and 21 second mark of the second round of two minutes of overtime, the Legends scored two exceptional goals in quick succession, bringing their final winning score to 34 against the 31 of the Young Bloods.
