Lekwa City FC beat Matapula’s FC 2-0

According to their head coach Phumalni Twala, they are concentrating on one game at a time and will take it from there.

Lekwa City FC’s winning streak continued in eMbalenhle on Sunday, 23 February when they beat Matapula’s FC 2-0.

Phiyelo Motloung and Mzimkhulu Tshabalala scored both goals in the second half.

Lekwa City is now at 52 points after playing 20 matches, winning 16 and drawing four.

They have 12 matches left with 36 points at stake.

According to their head coach Mr Phumalni Twala, they are concentrating on one game at a time and will take it from there.

Lekwa City FC has also organised a schools tournament for netball and soccer players at the Sakhile Stadium.

The tournaments will take place on Saturday, 18 April and Saturday, 25 April.

Participating schools are Khunjuliwe Secondary School, Khula-Sakhile Secondary School, Thobelani Secondary School, Jandrell Secondary School, Holmdene Secondary School, Zikhetheleni Secondary School, Thuto-Thebe Secondary School, Qondulwazi Secondary School, Azalea Combined School, Stanwest Combined School and Nqobangolwazi Secondary School.

Soccer and netball kits branded with the Lekwa City FC logo, a floating trophy and gold medals will be presented.

According to the chairman of Lekwa City, Mr Philani Mavundla, this tournament will take place annually and primary schools will be included next year.
