Andrew McMahon wins squash championship in Secunda

Frans van Wyk finished second and Janita de Villiers was the winner among the women while Lisa Venter finished second

Andrew McMahon (right) won the men's category of he Mpumalanga Highveld Squash Championship and Frans van Wyk finished second.

SECUNDA – Local squash players took part in the Mpumalanga Highveld Squash Championship in Secunda recently and Andrew McMahon won the men’s open category.

Frans van Wyk finished second and Janita de Villiers was the winner among the women while Lisa Venter finished second.

The championship took place at the Sasol Squash Club Secunda at the Sasol Recreation Club and a total of 32 squash players competed in the championship.

The community is welcome to take part in the social squash evenings at Sasol Squash Club Secunda on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 4.40pm to 6.40pm.

The squash club’s office hours are Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 6pm.
