Golfers compete in Highveld Golf Association’s annual league in Secunda

The Ou Toppies and Spring Chickens compete in respective divisions within the Highveld Golf Association’s annual Nett League.

The Highveld Golf Association hosted its annual Nett League, with the first round played on the greens at Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club on January 24.

The league format is a four-ball match play.

There are two divisions: the Nett League (Spring Chickens) and the Senior League (Ou Toppies, for players above 50).

Graceland fielded two Ou Toppies teams. Walker Park and Ermelo each entered one Ou Toppies team, and Ermelo also entered a Spring Chicken team.

Graceland was victorious in two games. Graceland’s Ou Toppies 1 beat Walker Park 1 by 4-2.

The Spring Chickens won by 8-0 against Ermelo.

The Graceland Ou Toppies 2 team lost 2-4 against Ermelo.

The games were played in good spirit, where new friends were made or played against old friends, in the spirit that belongs to golf.
