Soccer academy in Leandra strengthens international ties with friendly match
The coaches selected for the training programme are Henry Mkhwanazi and Bafana Ngwenya.
I Promise Football School participated in a friendly match and collaboration programme with an Olympiacos Greek feeder team in Linksfield, Johannesburg, on May 31.
It was aimed at assessing the development level of its young players and strengthening international football relations.
According to the founder and director of I Promise Football School, Wesley Ntshangase, the initiative was designed to expose the academy’s young talent to Greek football while building a long-term working relationship with the Olympiacos development structure.

Ntshangase said the partnership extends beyond player development, with the school’s coaches set to benefit from coaching education programmes under Tony, the director of youth development at Olympiacos.
The coaches selected for the training programme are Henry Mkhwanazi and Bafana Ngwenya, who will receive advanced coaching instruction to enhance youth development methods within the academy.

“We are investing heavily in our coaches so they can gain the expertise needed to develop our children at the highest level,” said Ntshangase.
He added that the collaboration represents an important step in ensuring that local young footballers are exposed to international standards while giving coaches opportunities to learn from established European football development systems.
The initiative is expected to contribute to the growth of youth football at I Promise Football School and create future opportunities for talented players to showcase their abilities on international platforms.
