Cullinan’s community cleans up their town
“Our vision is to ensure that the town stays a clean, responsible and self-sustainable tourist attraction.”
The Cullinan Tourism Association, in joined projects with Gauteng Tourism and the City of Tshwane, will beautify Cullinan to make it more attractive.
“We have teams keeping the central area free from refuse dropped along the pavements.
“These teams are paid to collect refuse per bag and they are proud to show the areas they cleared,” said Mr JB Bekker, a resident in Cullinan.
Ms Dawn Morrison was in charge of the team removing all unregistered and outdated signage and cleared much old and rude signage the past two weeks.
“Our vision is to ensure that Cullinan stays a clean, responsible and self-sustainable tourist attraction,” said Mr Bekker.
This is what motivated him to begin this movement.
“We began clearing up outdated signage, collected refuse along Main and Oak Streets and removed unregistered signage hammered to trees,” he said.
The community will continue to fix pavements, update signage and add more refuse bins.
