Girl from eMbalenhle to represent South Africa in Turkey

Mpho Mshupi Mpho earned the opportunity in the Miss Teen World contest after being recognised by Pageants SA for her confidence, talent and strong performance.

Thirteen-year-old Mpho Mshupi from eMbalenhle in the Govan Mbeki Local Municipality has been selected to represent South Africa at the Miss Teen World 2026, taking place in Turkey from May 6 to 20.

Mpho earned the opportunity after being recognised by Pageants SA for her confidence, talent and strong performance, securing her place on the international stage alongside contestants from around the world.

Family members, community leaders and residents of eMbalenhle gathered at Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club on May 7 to bid her farewell as she departed for Turkey.

Community members described Mpho’s achievement as a proud moment for eMbalenhle, saying her journey serves as an inspiration to young people who aspire to pursue their dreams through hard work and dedication.
