Criminals allegedly stole the ClearView fence protecting two water reservoirs in Sakhile, Standerton, during the night of June 1.

Following the incident, Izinjomane Security, the company contracted by Lekwa Municipality to safeguard municipal assets, has offered a R50 000 reward for information that could lead to the identification, arrest and successful prosecution of those responsible for the theft.

According to the company’s area manager, Mduduzi Madinane, the two security officers who were on duty at the time did not witness the theft.

The missing fence was only discovered the following morning when they were preparing to end their shift.

Madinane said the company is appealing to the community to assist with information that may help authorities track down the suspects.

He assured residents that all information received will be treated with strict confidentiality and that the identities of informants will be protected.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact 084 525 3736 or speak directly to Mduduzi Madinane, the company’s area manager.
