Secunda Cricket J-Tool Super Slam squads announced for U16 and senior tournaments

The Secunda Cricket J-Tool Super Slam draft has been completed, with U16 and senior men's squads selected ahead of the tournament taking place in September.

Excitement is building for this year’s Secunda Cricket Club J-Tool Super Slam after the official U16 and senior men’s squad draft took place on June 13, with four teams finalising their line-ups ahead of the September tournament.

The draft announcement was made live by Secunda Cricket Club chairman Marius du Toit under the supervision of tournament coordinator Ignus Koekemoer, as coaches from the Serval Cats, Buffalos, Highveld Bulls and Sables selected the players who will represent their respective teams.

The coaches making the selections were Lee Mokoena, Thato Mokoena and Pieter Vrolijk for the Serval Cats, George Louw for the Buffalos, Nicus Boshoff for the Sables, and Deon Ngwenya and Tevin Moodley for the Highveld Bulls.

Sables
The Sables U16 squad consists of Lean van Dyk, Ryan Parsons, Dylan Joubert, Armand Joubert, Emmerick Fourie, Conrad de Kock, Xander Müller, Johan Eksteen, Johan Grobler, Braam Koekemoer, Louis du Plessis and Koos Koen. Lehan Toerien and Stephan Jacobs have been named as reserves.

The Sables senior men’s squad includes Gavin Genis, Willem Sevenster, Michael Rossouw, Pieter Smith, Nicus Boshoff, Vernon Fourie, JP van Zyl, Ruhan Delport, Andries Coetzer, Antonie van Jaarsveld, Byron van Wyk and Jean Loock, with Thinus Prinsloo and RJ Kinnear serving as reserves.

Serval Cats
The Serval Cats U16 team features Zian Kriel, Wiandre Swart, Iwan Scholtz, Derick Botes, Rico Wentzel, Edrich Eadley, Sipho Tumane, Sandile Mabena, Michael Ronquest, Niel Radley, Werner Snygans and Ewald Hof. Stephan Hitge and Manson Kleinsmidt have been selected as reserves.

Their senior men’s squad comprises Dewald Erasmus, Nijan Swart, Luan Swart, Johan Viljoen, Pieter Vrolijk, Wyatt Johnson, Jayden Scholtz, Christian Walters, Nicky Hitage, Mpendulo Nkosi, Evan Kemp and Anthony Mufuiane. Najmal Mustafa and Luan Luus have been named as reserves.

Buffalos
The Buffalos U16 squad includes Wijnand Millard, Janic Swart, PJ van der Merwe, Fredrick Boshoff, Denis Munteanu, Wilre Cilliers, Juard Toerien, Hanre Snyman, Duncan Vosloo, Jayden du Plessis, Logan Webb and De Wet Fouche. Jaque Els and Alexander Botha are the reserves.

The Buffalos senior men’s team consists of George Louw, Eduan Strydom, Herman Potgieter, Pieter Viljoen, Colin van Staden, Nicholis Grobler, Suhail Patel, Juanru Brazelle, Ruben Bodemer, Johan Kruger, Umar Badat and CJ Bakker, with Ricardo Maree and Daan Coetzer selected as reserves.

Highveld Bulls
The Highveld Bulls U16 squad features Daryl Chirumetsikwa, Daniel Heyns, GJ Coetzee, Brussöw de Wet, Joe Barnard, Dirk van Deventer, JP Muller, Jesse Bolton, Xander Dreyer, Xavier Pretorius, Juan van der Merwe and Adrian van Zyl. Ewan Hattingh and Siya Ndlovu have been named as reserves.

The Highveld Bulls senior men’s squad comprises Johan van Antwerpen, David Junior Makua, Davico Kruger, Stefan Leemans, Akhulile Mkatu, Asraf Patel, Tshatsa Bila, Aiden Williams, Jandre de Clerq, Christiaan Jansen, Jeandré Dekker and Zander Janse van Rensburg. Hugo Bierman and Amier Aziz will serve as reserves.

The U16 J-Tool Super Slam tournament will take place from September 24 to 25, while the senior men’s competition is scheduled for September 26 to 27.
