6-year-old flung from car during hijacking
Hijackers crash vehicle into bakkie and caravan.
Yesterday at around 4pm a mother and her three children were kidnapped during a hijacking on the corner of Cutten and Honeyball Streets.
During a high speed chase the three hijackers crashed the vehicle into a bakkie towing a caravan and the 6-year old boy was ejected from the vehicle due to the high impact.
The mother and her three children are in a critical condition and three others have sustained injuries varying from serious to moderate.
The Netcare2 helicopter was dispatched to the scene to airlift the boy from scene to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
Another person who is in a critical condition has been airlifted by another private emergency service to a Johannesburg hospital.
Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside other services on scene to stabilise those injured.
Four people were transported by ambulance to various hospitals in Johannesburg for further medical care.
The suspects were detained by Roodepoort Police after receiving medical care
