Private security company apprehends one man after Constantia Kloof home invasion

One man was arrested and two escaped after a foiled house burglary on August 23.

Dowry Security reaction units responded to reports of a break-in at a property on Lukwart Street shortly after 11:30. Reports from the scene state that three men gained access to the property from an adjacent field before smashing through a window with a brick. The owner was inside the house and the occupants had hidden themselves as they waited for security and police.

The thugs had begun removing appliances and clothes from the house when the reaction officers arrived. The Dowry team apprehended one suspect in the yard of the house, but the two other men were able to evade arrest, escaping the property over the wall.

Honeydew police spokesperson, Balan Muthan, confirmed the incident and that the suspect was handed over to the station’s officers.
