Helderkruin neighbour has had enough

A neighbour clash leads to the next step — a protection order.

A woman is planning to obtain a protection order against her “pompous, arrogant and manipulative” neighbour.

Disruption upon disruption has led to her decision to do so. According to the woman’s conversations with the Record, the man had bought the property next to hers between 2009 and 2010.

“It seems his intentions with buying the property was to change the whole arrangement of it.”

In the time that the man has owned it, he has levelled the property, added a garage to the house, renovated the inside of the house and extended the house to the very border between their properties. He has removed the fencing between the properties and built a wall, reinforced the wall and extended the length of it.

“He built that wall without having any prior conversation with me.

“Afterwards he actually expected me to reimburse him for half of the costs involved, claiming that ‘it will benefit the both of us’.”
Trees on her property that he had cut off bluntly were shown to the Record. The woman, being a pensioner, feels that she was bullied and manipulated into letting him carry on with his developments.

“Once I gave him my pinky, he grabbed the whole hand. He doesn’t even live on that property, yet all I’ve experienced with my neighbour is grief.”
Other allegations made to the Record requires further investigation.
