Welties dominate sports day

The focus of the day was on participation, enjoyment, and good sportsmanship.

Colour, energy and a strong sense of competition filled the grounds at Weltevreden Park Primary School on May 9, when the school hosted its Welties Fête and Sports Day.

Learners from different schools took part in a full day of netball and soccer matches. The atmosphere was lively from the start of the day as supporters were on the sidelines cheering on the players while they gave their best in every game.

The matches were highly contested, but Welties finished as the overall winners. The school took first position in netball and second in soccer, which helped them secure the overall top position, ending the day on a good note.

Learners from Constantia Kloof Primary School also made their school proud by giving the best performances in soccer, where they finished as overall winners. Their consistency and teamwork stood out throughout the day.

Teachers, organisers, and supporters helped to ensure the event ran smoothly, while also providing encouragement for the learners who were participating in the day’s activities.

By the end of the day, learners from all schools came together to acknowledge each other’s efforts. The event once again showed that it was not only about competition but also about school sport, unity and community spirit.
