“A woman is the full circle” — Rocci
Lady Rocci celebrated Women's Day early and held another successful event at Ramkietjie in Ruimsig.

Lady Rocci held yet another successful ladies’ morning and celebrated Women’s Day early on Friday 2 August at Ramkietjie in Ruimsig.
Rocci’s Diane Mariechild believes that a woman is the full circle, “and within her is the power to create, nurture and transform”.
For this reason, Mariechild explains, Lady Rocci encourages businesswomen to become involved in networking to assist local community projects.
“These community projects facilitate the creation of an environment in which the business community and its people, in turn, can flourish.”
Lady Rocci works towards expanding opportunities for women and improving the community as a whole, Mariechild told the Record.
“The purpose of this dynamic businesswomen forum is to address issues of concern to them. The forum presents a unifying point of contact and communication, which creates an effective link between stakeholders.”
In this regard Lady Rocci offers four special ladies’ mornings annually, where members and non-members can network, empower themselves and recharge their batteries. On 2 August, the event was dedicated to the importance of providing for your children’s future.
According to Dr Lanette Hattingh, Brainwave Careers and Projects managing director and Lady Rocci guest speaker, one can love and feed your child but the greatest value that you can impart on a child “is a strong belief system, core values and provision of the best possible education available.
“Nelson Mandela has said that education is the most powerful weapon with which you can change the world,” Hattingh explained, “and Brainwave believes that our children are the most precious assets of a nation”.
“At Brainwave, we find that your emotional intelligence (EQ) exceeds the significance of your intelligence quotient (IQ).”
The morning was coloured by George Meiring and Hannes van Wyk, masters of ceremonies and guest speakers. Meiring entertained the guests with his golden voice and tips on flower arrangements. Van Wyk, the keynote speaker, touched the heart of every woman with his genuine approach, humour and admiration for women.
“His respect, love and honour for his own mother were breathtaking,” Mariechild said.
Mariechild invites female residents who are interested in receiving an invitation to the next Lady Rocci event to email their contact details to ladyrocci@rocci.org or to call 086 111 3304 for further information.
