Copper cable case postponed

Four suspects' case postponed while a fifth suspect's case will be heard separately.

Four suspects will appear in court on Thursday 23 October for possession of stolen copper cables.

The suspects were caught with 505kg suspected stolen copper cables, estimated to be worth R100 000, at a second-hand dealership in Robertville, Florida earlier in October. The suspects appeared in court on Wednesday (22 October) where the case was postponed to the following day. The suspects have not pleaded yet.

A fifth suspect, believed to be the owner of the dealership, was arrested on two counts – possession of stolen property and bribery – after he allegedly offered the police R30 000 to avoid arrest. His case will be heard separately.
