Giving is so much better than receiving

The challenge is over and the Forensic team came out on top.

The challenge to collect as many goods for Community Led Animal Welfare (Claw) in four weeks has come to a tail wagging end.

Jacques Koekemoer and his team from the Roodepoort Forensic Pathology Services at the Roodepoort Police Station collected a bakkie load of dog and cat food, doggie blankets and blankets for the Durban Deep community.

The Roodepoort Record team, although they did not manage to collect as much, also managed to add to the delivery at Claw’s premises in Luipaardsvlei.

According to Jacques, this is the beginning of many collections to come. “This collection marked the first of our annual drive to give something back to the community. We only had about four weeks left to collect and I am very proud of my team, they did a sterling job. Next year we will start sooner with the collections and we will go even bigger. We are very excited to be part of this amazing initiative,” he said and urged people to continue to hand in donations. “The Forensic team thanks everybody who donated to this worthy cause.”

The editor of the Record team, Roelien Vorster said it is amazing how many people in the community are animal lovers. “The Record appreciates everybody’s efforts to hand in their donations. We received blankets, food, second-hand clothes and even a pram. Thank you Roodepoort for opening your hearts and help us to help those who cannot speak for themselves.”
